Reading and writing go together.

Reading immersion is a vital part of the writing workshops. You will be asked to read 10 different books for each lesson. This will help you to see the Big Picture writing traits of ideas, organization and voice.

Where will I find books to read for the workshop?

You may read books of your own choosing: from the library, the bookstore or your own bookshelves at home. Use the Great Children's Books lists as a starting point. After the workshop begins, I will send you more suggested reading lists.

What if I can't find 60 books in English?

Reading books written in English is NOT required. Reading books is. I have had students from every continent except Antarctica. Many students read books in their own languages. As long as the homework is written in English, we're fine!
