Every story has 4 basic story elements: a hook, a theme, an arc and beats. When you write a picture book, however, you need to add 2 more: a storyboard (a picture book has pictures, so with each page turn, the image needs to change) and the real aloud (unlike books for older readers, picture books are read aloud.)
