Every story has 4 basic story elements: a hook, a theme, an arc and beats. When you write a children's chapter book, however, you need to add 2 more: a story ladder (the story arc within each chapter) and the point-of-view (unlike books for older readers, children's chapter books usually have one narrator per chapter.)
