Learn how to write a children's chapter book.

The Children's Chapter Book Workshop is a 12 lesson email course. I have divided it into 2 parts: Lessons 1-6 and Lessons 7-12.

For this workshop we are using the broadest definition of a chapter book: a book for children with chapters. This includes easy readers, transitional readers (also called "chapter books"), middle grade and young adult books.

I will send you a new lesson each Wednesday. You have 2 weeks to complete each lesson, so the each part of the workshop lasts 8 weeks.

Learn the basic elements of a children's chapter book (hook, theme, arc, beats, ladder, and POV) as you study 3 children's chapter books per lesson to see how they use the Big Picture writing traits of ideas, organization and voice.

After you complete Lessons 1-6, write and edit your first chapter
in the Children's Chapter Book Workshop #7-12.
