The Children's Book Anatomy Workshop is a 12 lesson email course.
I have divided it into 2 parts: Lessons 1-6 and Lessons 7-12.

I will send you a new lesson each Wednesday.
You have 2 weeks to complete each lesson, so each part of the workshop lasts 8 weeks.

Artists study anatomy to learn the structure of the human body. This knowledge of how the body is put together guides artists as they draw. Writers can learn anatomy, too...book anatomy. How are books for the ages and stages of childhood structured? What story layers do the books have? What promises do they make? You will begin at the beginning with a child's everyday world (realistic fiction) as you read 3 books for each age of childhood and look beneath the surface to see how they are put together.
