Reading and writing go together.

Reading immersion is a vital part of the writing workshops. In order to participate in the workshop and complete all of the assignments, you will need to read five different books for each lesson (yes, even for the critiques!)

Where will I find books to read for the workshop?

You may read books of your own choosing: from the library, the bookstore or your own bookshelves at home. (Use the Best Children's Books Lists, the Children's Book Award Lists and the Children's Book Review Magazines List as a starting point. After you register I will send you more suggested reading lists.)

What if I can't find 100 books in English?

Reading books written in English is NOT required. Reading books is. I have had students from every continent except Antarctica. Many students read books in their own languages. As long as the homework is written in English, we're fine!
