Young Nonfiction Workshop

Research and prepare information books and biographies for trade and educational publishers.

The Young Nonfiction Workshop is a 20 day email course. It takes at least an hour a day to read five nonfiction picture books (or K-6 nonfiction readers for the classroom) and complete the homework. By clicking "reply" to your Young Nonfiction Workshop emails, we can discuss the six genres of nonfiction, research, the nonfiction elements, nonfiction plot structure, faction, and more.

You will read 100 young nonfiction books
and send in three or four young nonfiction book manuscripts*
during this workshop.

*If you are working on a nonfiction book proposal
you can send in an Annotated Table of Contents for the critique assignment.
