How can I get inservice clock hours for taking an online writing workshop?
Many students have taken the workshops for clock hours over the years. Here are the steps:
- Before the workshop, request approval from your school or district.
- Complete all of the workshop reading and writing assignments.
- After the workshop, request a clock hours letter.
- Submit the clock hours letter to your school or district.
How many clock hours are the workshops?
The picture book, easy reader, and nonfiction writing workshops listed below are 20 lessons long and require analysis of five books per lesson as well as the writing of three or four manuscripts. A three manuscript workshop is 30 hours. A four manuscript workshop is 33 hours.
How many clock hours will I need?
The number of clock hours you need varies by state. Check the lists at the National Institute for Early Education Research and the International Reading Association.
How long do I have to complete a workshop?
You have 21 weeks to complete a self-paced writing workshop. That's ONE assignment a week and an extra week for "vacation." |
