Learn how to apply the six traits of writing
from an author who uses them everyday.
Six weeks before the visit:
Decide which 10-15 books you want to order.
Most schools order:
- hardcovers for the library
- paperbacks for the students
Four weeks before the visit:
I will create a webpage for your author visit program. It will have:
- a list of the programs that will be presented at your school
- a list of the paperback books you have selected for your student book order
Three weeks before the visit:
Share the books on your student book order with your students. Just click on the book cover on your webpage to "see inside" the book. (If a book you have ordered doesn't have a see-inside page, I will mail you a preview copy to read to the students.)
Two weeks before the visit:
Please send the book order forms home with your students.
On the day of the visit:
All monies will be collected and the books will be signed.
Q. How will the students pay for the books?
A. There are two options. Please add the option you select to the book order forms you send home with students:
- Personal Funds:
You collect cash, checks, and money orders addressed to Anastasia Suen in an envelope.
- School Funds:
You collect cash, checks, and money orders addressed to your PTA or school. At the end of the visit, the PTA or school writes me a check for all funds collected.
Q. How many copies of each book should I ask you to bring?
A. It's hard to know how many books will sell at each school. I will bring a 6-12 copies of each title, and if it sells out we will ask the students if they want to buy a different book, or wait for a new order of that title to come (in 2 weeks.) Any copies that do not sell are saved for the next author program.
