Learn how to apply the six traits of writing
from an author who uses them everyday.
A work of fiction begins with the first trait of writing: ideas. When I wrote the Jake Maddox sports novels I had to do research about each sport so I could create the "world" of the story. I also had to figure out who my character was and what he wanted.
Once I knew the character and his world, I used a graphic organizer to help me plan the book and then I began writing. What always happened next was change! As I wrote new ideas came to me. One idea led to another.
For Writing Action I show examples of my research and read excerpts from my books. After the readings, we have questions and answers.
I will sign books
during lunch and at the end of the day.
Writing Action is a 45 minute program.
