Nonfiction is about the real world. There is so much to cover, there are SIX ways to write nonfiction:
Informational text: Shares information.
Procedural text: Explains how to do something step-by-step.
Biography: Tells the story of a person's life.
Nonfiction narrative: Tells a story of real life events.
Reference: Explains or describes information concisely. (You will write in this genre if your book has a glossary.)
Persuasive Text: Seeks to persuade the reader to do what the writer wants. (You write in this genre when you write your query/cover letter to an editor or agent.)
